As the 2023 general elections draw near, electorates have been advised to maximize their constitutional powers to elect good and credible leaders that will bring about the desired change in Nigeria.

A chieftain of Labour Party in Oyo State, Alhaji Tawfiq Akinwale gave the advice while featuring on Political Space, an interview programme on Premier FM, Ibadan.

Alhaji Akinwale said the nation would not be able to produce good leadership without good followership, hence the need for the electorates to show readiness to actively participate in the general elections by choosing their representatives in governance based on credibility.

Alhaji Akinwale, who is currently a senior public servant in the Presidency, advised people to think of those who had their interests at heart and shun monetary rewards for votes.

Alhaji Akinwale, who is also a governorship aspirant under the Labour Party in Oyo State, said it was the only party that could produce a government with people at the centre.

He called on people in all spheres of life to join the party while emphasizing the need for civil and public servants to show a keen interest in the nation’s politics.
