Nigerians must Tackle Challenge of Value Disorientation – Cleric

An Islamic scholar, Ustadth Ibrahim Lawal and other key speakers at the 2022 annual Ramadan lecture of Radio Nigeria paramount FM, Abeokuta want individual Nigerians to rise to the responsibility of addressing the problems of value disorientation and impatience as the causes of the insatiable quest for sudden wealth among the youths.  

Speaking on the Islamic solutions to the menace of rituals for wealth as well as the parental and societal influences, the guest lecturer and Imam of Hasbunallah Mosque, Itori, Ogun state, Ustadth Lawal emphasized that every member of the society must be proactive in checking youth’s exposure to bad contents in the media.

He also advocated the need for proper management and transformation of the nation’s natural resources for the benefit of all citizens. 

Ustadth Lawal charged parents to brace up for the job of nurturing their children to be morally and spiritually responsible while equipping them with the right academic and vocational knowledge to enable them to create wealth and contribute to national growth. 

In the same vein, the royal father of the day, Ebumawe of Agọ Iwoye, Oba Abdulrasaq Adenugba encouraged the people to always avoid sin and pray for their leaders. 

Also, The Chairman of the occasion and Ogun State Commissioner for Housing, Chief Jagunmolu Omoniyi, represented by Mr Tajudeen Egunjobi said every responsible adult should be involved in the task of child upbringing by keeping watch on the younger ones and helping to correct their wrongdoings. 

Alhaja Kuburat Otun who was the mother of the day urged Nigerians to always reflect the fear of God in all their undertakings and advised couples to keep praying for their children even when they were yet to be born. 

Earlier, the General Manager of paramount FM, Mr Akinyinka Akintola who noted that fasting would attract physical and spiritual benefits to believers said the lecture was organized to help in educating the people on the dangers of engaging in rituals for wealth, especially among the youths.

Mr Akintola encouraged religious leaders and parents to concentrate efforts on raising children that would be well grounded in moral and Godly values. 

Dignitaries at the Paramount FM Ramadan lecture included the National president of ACOMORAN, Prince Shamsudeen Apelogun who was represented by the State Chairman of the Union, Mr Kayode Sowunmi.
