The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC seeks the support of stakeholders in the education of Voters ahead of the June 18 governorship election in Ekiti State. 

INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Dr Adeniran Tella made the call at a Voter Education Implementation Workshop for Electoral Officers held in Ado Ekiti. 

Dr Tella, who said the commission could not achieve its mandate without the support of concerned stakeholders, noted that the workshop was part of INEC’s preparations for ensuring a successful poll. 

He pointed out that the workshop would afford the INEC staff, most especially those in charge of voter education to sensitise the electorates.

In their remarks, the Director of the National Orientation Agency, NOA in Ekiti State, Mrs Olawumi Famuyiwa and the State Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Mr Rotimi Ojomoyela promised to complement the efforts of the commission. 

Also, the state Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Mrs Mary Chikezie called on INEC to put into consideration the security of corps members who would participate as ad-hoc staff in the election.
