Experts on Reproductive Health and family planning have canvassed the need for improved domestic funding and resource mobilization to sustain reproductive health care among Nigerians.

At the Ogun State Reproductive Health Technical Working Group meeting in Abeokuta, the experts explained that increasing the resources would enhance contraceptive uptake among clients and ensure continuous sensitisation and education of the people.

Program Officer, Reproductive Health and Family Planning, Pathfinder International, Mr Yusuf Nuhu said the meeting was to foster coordination and ensure accountability among stakeholders.

Also, the Director, Life Agenda, Mr Olufemi Olusola called for training and retraining of service providers and other non-health actors to embrace Family Planning as a means of improving the quality of life for women of childbearing age.

Responding, the Executive Secretary, Primary Health Care Development Board, Dr Elijah Ogunsola said efforts were on to ensure that Family Planning services remained free and accessible across the twenty Local Governments in the state.
