The Nigerian Women In Information Technology, NIWIIT, Oyo state chapter has inaugurated its new executives in the task of promoting Information technology among women and girls.
The inauguration/Awareness/Training of the association was held at the Oyo state’s Ministry of Information,Culture and Tourism,Secretariat, Ibadan.

Speaking at the event,the Special Assistant to the Governor on ICT, Bayo Akande expressed the readiness of government to partner the association to equip women and girls on modern day technology in the digital age.

The Special Assistant on ICT while commending the body for its various initiatives maintained that government’s door is open for support.

Also,the Commissioner for Information,Culture and Tourism, Dr Wasiu Olatunbosun seeks the collaboration of NIWIIT in the empowerment of female students.

The National president of the Association, Mrs Dele Osibo urged the newly inaugurated executives to work together to impact women positively as envisioned by NIWIIT.

In a remark,the Oyo state Coordinator of  Nigerian Women in Information Technology, Mrs Bose Owolabi said the association would continue to synergize with relevant stakeholders to promote IT skills amongst girls and women through  strategic plan.

Nigerian Women in Information Technology, NIWIT, a new interest group of the Nigeria Computer Society, NCS, has the motto: “Advancing the use of Information Technology amongst women”.
