At least sixty houses in Oko , Surulere local government area of Oyo state have been destroyed by the downpour of Wednesday night.

Radio Nigeria team who went round the town reports that houses, schools,shops,churches and other buildings were destroyed.

Reacting, the Oloko of Oko land,Oranmiyan of Oko land,Oba Solomon Akinola, said the devastating effect of the downpour was huge, calling on government and other agencies including ministry of humanitarian affairs ,NEMA and SEMA to come to their aid.

One of the victims,whose fence was pulled down Alhaji AbdulKadiri Oyeboade also appealed to all stakeholders to put hands together to palliative to the victims.

Meanwhile,as at seven o’clock in the morning residents had begun to pack the debris.
