Ekiti State Governor, and Chairman, Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Dr Kayode Fayemi will formally declare his intention to run for the position of President of the country tomorrow in Abuja.

His Chief Press Secretary, Mr Yinka Oyebode made this known in a statement in Ado Ekiti.

According to Mr Oyebode, Wednesday’s declaration, tagged “Unveiling My Nigeria Agenda”, is the climax of the Governor’s extensive consultations across the geo-political zones in the last six weeks which will lay to rest speculations on whether he would run for the Presidency or not.

Mr  Oyebode said the Ekiti State helmsman had after discussing his plan to run for the number One office with President Mohammadu Buhari last month, sought counsel, guidance and support from traditional and political leaders across states in the federation.

He explained that Governor Fayemi kick-started the consultation in Ondo State, where he met with traditional rulers and other eminent personalities, and also visited traditional rulers as well as other critical stakeholders across the Southwest.

Mr Oyebode said further that his Principal also extended handshake across the Southeast and North where he met with monarchs and Emirs as well as other important personalities.

He added that Governor Fayemi also consulted other governors, especially those on the platform of the All Progressives Congress intimating them with his ambition.

Mr Oyebode added that the aggregate opinion, counsel and goodwill received during the consultation period form the crux of Governor Fayemi’s declaration on Wednesday in Abuja.
