Wife of Oyo state governor, Mrs Tamunominini Makinde wants care givers to be more patient and show love to the vulnerable ones in their custody.

During a tour of selected orphanages in Ibadan, the first lady commended the care givers in the various homes and those taking care of the physically challenged for their commitments and resilience.

While presenting gifts, including cash, food items and toiletries to the homes, Mrs Makinde appealed to individuals, families and corporate organisations to support the less privileged in the society.

In a remark, Permanent Secretary, Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, Mrs Christiana Abioye noted that visiting homes usually gave the physically challenged a sense of belonging.

Beneficiaries were full of thanks to the governor’s wife for the gesture and promised judicious use for the care of the children.

On the entourage of the First Lady were the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, Alhaja Kafilat Olayiwola, Commissioner for Special Duties, Alhaja Joke Sanni, Mrs Bolanle Sarumi, and Permanent Secretary women affairs and social Inclusion ministry, Mrs Christiana Abioye.

Home visited included Rehabilitation center for the disabled, Oyo state juvenile correctional institution, Oyo state Child care unit, Winnies castle orphanage, Bosco boys street children home.

Others are Jesus Heritage home, Make a future alive initiative home and Adekanola Comfort orphanages
