Community policing effort to clamp down on vandalism, especially of IBEDC installations in Ilesa metropolis have begun to yield results as three men were today caught pilling the armored cable they allegedly stole from the transformer that supplies electricity to the palace of the Owa Obokun.

The people numbering three were caught in the act following a tip off.

Confirming the incident, the Divisional Police officer in charge of Ayeso A’ Police Division, Ilesa , Mr Bamigboye Martins said the suspects would be charged to court tomorrow after investigation.

Mr Bamigboye also confirmed the arrest of a scavenger caught with a burnt armored cable in her disposal saying , vandalism of electric installations in Ilesa and environs had been giving the police a concern in the recent times.
Meanwhile , the palace cables which had been pilled and cut into pieces by the suspects is valued above eight hundred thousand naira.
