President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, to convey his condolences on the passing of President and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

He is scheduled to present the condolence and congratulatory to the new President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and thereafter review the bonds of a long-lasting friendship between the 2 countries.

In a congratulatory message to the new UAE leader, he reaffirmed Nigeria’s relationship with the country, noting that the cooperation has helped Nigeria in tracking down illegal assets and tracing terrorists’ funds.

Under the new leadership, President Buhari said he looked forward to a bigger and stronger partnership for peace, stability, and prosperity for both countries.

Accompanying the President are the Minister of State Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Zubairu Dada, the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Professor Isa Ali Fantami, the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Mohammed Bello, and the Minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika.

Other members of his delegation are the National Security Adviser, retired Major General Mohammed Monguno, and the Director-General, National Intelligence Agency, Ambassador Ahmed Rufai Abubakar.

The President is expected back in Abuja on Saturday.
