Two people have been presumed dead while five persons sustained varying degrees of injuries in an accident that occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway around Mowe Bus Stop.

The accident involved a Toyota Hiace bus marked GMT641XL and a truck with registration number KSF320XX.

The Ogun State Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Mr Ahmed Umar said in a statement that twenty male adults were involved in the crash, out of which 5 persons sustained injured with 2 deaths recorded.

Mr Umar attributed the suspected causes of the fatal crash to excessive speeding and dangerous driving which led to the loss of control on the part of the bus which caused it to ram into the moving truck.

The Sector Commander FRSC Ogun cautioned motorists against excessive speed and dangerous driving, pointing out that there was a low rate of compliance to safe driving rules among commercial drivers.

Mr Umar commiserated with the family of the crash victims and advised them to contact Mowe Unit Command for details of the crash and reclaim the properties of the victims recovered from the scene of the crash

According to the FRSC Public Education Officer for Sector Commander, Florence Okpe, the injured victims had been taken to a private hospital in Mowe while the corpses of the dead have been handed over to their families.
