A bill to amend the establishment of the Ondo State Agricultural Inputs Supply Agency Law 2022 has been passed by the State House of Assembly.

The passage followed the submission of the report by the Chairman House Committee on Agriculture, Taofik Mohammed for consideration and approval at a plenary, presided over by the Speaker, Bamidele Oleyelogun.

The bill had weeks ago, been debated and was committed to the committee for proper examination.

Presenting the report, Mr. Mohammed explained that the bill would address the grey areas in the principal law and assists the agency in conforming with modern principles as regards inputs like chemical, fertilizers, and other equipment.

He said the bill would also assist in boosting the ability of the agency to collaborate with research institutes within and outside the country.

Meanwhile, the Public Accounts Committee of the Ondo State House of Assembly has summoned the state Teaching Service Commission, Muslim Welfare Board, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Agricultural Inputs Supply Agency to appear before it Tomorrow.

This followed their deliberate failure to appear as slated when the Public Accounts Committee, yesterday, commenced sitting on the audited report of the state MDAs.

Chairman of the Committee, Honourable Festus Adefiranye frowned at the non-appearance of the affected MDAs to clear themselves of the audit queries against them.

He directed the affected MDAs to appear before the PAC Tomorrow at ten o’clock in the morning as failure to appear will attract severe sanctions from the committee.
