Some traders are counting their losses as fire gutted a section of the Bodija Market in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The traders lamented that they lost goods worth millions of naira in the fire which started in the early hours of today.

The report says the cause of the fire could not be immediately ascertained but it was gathered that the inferno was eventually put out by firefighters, traders and security guards at the market.

The Director of Operations, Oyo State Fire Service, Mr Ismail Adeleke, who confirmed that the fire had been put out, advised residents to always put safety measures in place to prevent fire outbreaks.
