The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC in Oyo State has published personal particulars of Governorship, Deputy Governorship and House of Assembly candidates of the eighteen political parties in the state.
INEC Administrative Secretary, Alhaji Biodun Onikate-Amosu made this known in a statement in Ibadan.
Alhaji Onikate-Amosu explained that the publication was in line with the scheduled timetable for the 2023 general elections and Electoral Acts, 2022.
He pointed out that section 29 subsection 3 of the Electoral Acts provided for publication of the personal particulars of candidates as contained in Form EC9 within 9 days of its receipt.
Alhaji Onikate-Amosu, who hinted that the list had been pasted at the commission’s state office, Agodi, Ibadan and 33 local government areas offices, appealed to the public to use the opportunity to scrutinize the detail bio-data of candidates and seek judicial redress for any noticable violation of law as provided in Section 29 of the INEC Electoral Act, 2022.
