Tragedy has hit the palace of Oba Abdulahi Okunloye,the Olofa of Ofatedo, Yinusa Okunloye, as an Unidentified Cult group stormed his son residence and shot him dead.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday in Ofatedo, Egbedore Local Government area of Osun State.
Radio Nigeria learnt that the unknown gunmen approached the 43-year-old Okunloye’s house around 12am on Saturday, dragged him out and later shot him in the chest.
The aftermath of the prince death led to a roadblock as early as 8am in the community,while businesses were closed down.
When contacted the Osun State Police Command over the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Yemisi Opalola confirmed the incident.
While speaking with Journalists, Mrs Opalola said a group of suspected cultists about three in number invaded Olofa street, Ofatedo and called Okunloye out of his room and shot him in his chest leading to his death.
She stressed that the remains of the prince had been deposited at UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital mortuary for autopsy.
Opalola however said no one had been arrested for the killing but promised that all efforts are on to bring the suspects to book.
