Muharram 1444 AH: Oyetola Declares Public Holiday for Celebration
Osun State Government has declared Friday, as public holiday in commemoration of the commencement of the new Islamic year, Muharram 1444 AH.
This is contained in a statement issued and signed by the state Commissioner for Special Duties and the Supervising Commissioner for the Ministry of Home Affairs, Olalekan Badmus .
The statement urges Muslim faithful to use the opportunity provided by the public holiday for supplications and prayers for continued peace and progress of the state under the leadership of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola.
It equally enjoins all Muslims in the state not only to celebrate Hijrah but engage in spiritual soul searching in line with the essence of the occasion as exemplified by the virtues of the holy prophet of Allah, Muhammad, while on earth.
