Unknown Gunmen Injure Two in Owo Attack
Two workers of a Road Construction Company in Owo Council Area of Ondo State have been seriously injured during an attack by unknown gunmen at the construction site.
According to reports, the workers whose names are yet to be made known were attacked at about 9:45 pm on Wednesday night during a dynamite explosion unleashed by the hoodlums.
Radio Nigeria gathered that the gunmen shot sporadically into the air and damaged the trucks at the site before bolting away.
It was also gathered that the injured persons had been taken to the hospital and responding to treatment.
Confirming the attack, the Commander of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, Amotekun Corps, Chief Adetunji Adeleye who spoke with newsmen confirmed that it was the two security men on ground that were injured.
” They got the windscreen of the Caterpillar of the construction company damaged and the injured men have been receiving treatment at a nearby hospital.
According to the Amotekun Commander who doubles as the Special Adviser to the Ondo State Governor on Security Matters, “by the grace of God, the situation is under control and I urge everyone to go about their normal businesses as I am on my way back to the Technical College where the newly recruited Amotekun officers are undergoing training, he said.
Earlier in the week, gunmen identified as miscreants by the Police attacked a police station in Akure metropolis, the Ondo State capital killing a police officer but were repelled from gaining entrance into the station.
