A faction of the All Progressives Congress, APC, TOP, has staged a protest at the Osun State House of Assembly demanding the restructuring of the Executives of the Party from the Ward to the State Level.

The Protesters came with different inscriptions including; “For a successful 2023 General Election, Famoodun Must Go”, Support All Progressives Congress, Enough is Enough, Famodun Must Go”, Bring back APC strong, amongst others. 

One of the Spokespersons of the Protesters, Mr Wale Alabi claimed that the Inability of The State Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Prince Adegboyega Famoodun to Harmonize peacefully with other fractions under the Party led to its failure to the opposition at the 16th July Governorship Election.

While calling for the immediate removal of Prince Famoodun from the position of the Chairman, they stressed the need for the Leaders of the APC to fashion out ways of resolving the internal Crisis ahead of next year’s general poll.

Addressing the Protesters, The Speaker, Osun State House of Assembly, Mr Timothy Owoeye who said he would go through the Allegations in the Letter and give feedback in due course pointed out that the 7th Assembly would strife to ensure that the All Progressives Congress remained as an indomitable family. 

Discarding the various insinuations on the cause of the outcome of the last Election, Mr Owoeye explained that, no one could specifically ascertain the reasons, and stressed that, in a Democratic process various agitations arose.
