Christians should live a life worthy of eternal rest as death could come at any time.

Reverend Doctor Segun Jayesimi of the University of Ibadan Baptist Church, Ibadan stated this in a sermon at the burial service of Emeritus Professor Timothy Adediji Awoniyi at the First Baptist Church, Ila-orangun, Osun State.

Reverend Jayesimi stressed that there was no mercy and repentance in heaven, as death is a reality and everyone is destined to die one day.

Reverend Jayesimi urged members of the congregation to make kindness their watchword.

He described late Emeritus Professor Awoniyi as a kind-hearted man and encouraged his children to imbibe his deeds.

Speaking, one of the children of Emeritus Professor Timothy Awoniyi, Mrs Kehinde Opatunji, Manager of Marketing Department, Radio Nigeria, Gold FM, Ilesa, described her father as her pillar and would miss his fatherly love.

Aged 82, Emeritus Professor Timothy Awoniyi who died on May 8th this year is survived by his wife, Dorcas, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Present at the occasion was the Zonal Director of Federal Radio Corporation FRCN, Ibadan National Station, Mrs Bolatito Joseph, Gold FM Manager, and Mr  Adedamola Tinubu, who led other heads of departments and other members of staff of Gold FM.
