The Fortune of women in the country’s political landscape would be enhanced through collaboration to break male dominance.

Discussants expressed this view at a forum organized by the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, held at Dapo Aderogba Hall, NUJ Press Centre, Iyaganku, Ibadan.

One of the discussants, the Registrar, Lead City University, Dr Oyebola Ayeni while delivering a paper on the theme ‘Positioning Women for Leadership Responsibilities’ encouraged women to change the dynamics in the country through support for women who aspire for political offices.

“However to position women for leadership responsibilities, we women should be able to balance and manage things by putting ourselves together”

 Also speaking, Reverend Mrs  Omowumi Popoola challenged women to fight for their rights, and stand against early child marriage in society.

In a remark, the chairman on the occasion who is also the Oyo state commissioner for Information, Dr Wasiu Olatunbosun called for unity among women in order to achieve their set goals and objectives. He, therefore, admonished NAWOJ to prioritize the welfare of its members.

 Earlier, in an address of welcome, the Chairperson, Nigeria Association of Women  Journalists, Oyo State Chapter, NAWOJ. Mrs Jadesola Ajibola urged women to gear up as the general election of 2023 approaches in order to be able to vie for elective offices.

“We women as we all know are not just a female gender also We are to stand up for our Responsibilities. As women, we talked but most time we engage in intellectual discussion”

Mrs Ajibola said to fulfil their aspiration to be reckoned with as a force in politics and governance in the country would need to reposition themselves.
