Minister of Police Affairs, Dr Mohammed Dingyadi says the Nigeria Police Force, NPF, will continue to discharge its duties with professionalism and adherence to extant laws.

The minister stated this in Abuja at the news briefing on the successes recorded by security agencies in the fight against insecurity.

Dr Dingyadi said, bothered by the various complaints about the overzealousness of some police officers, emphasis had been placed on improving the quality of its personnel.

The minister disclosed that in the last three months, 431 complaints on excesses of police officers had been received by the Police Complaints Commission, PCC.

He, however, added that 304 cases had been resolved with varying degrees of punishment metes to erring officers.
