A traditional ruler in Ogun State has advocated the development of smaller towns through the provision of infrastructure by the government to reduce insecurity across the country.

The Olu of Lisa, Oba Najeemdeen Odugbemi while speaking at the Lisa Town’s Community Day Celebration in the Irewolede Area CDC of Ifo Local Government noted that, the provisions of infrastructure in small towns and rural communities would discourage migration to the big cities.

He stated that most of the youths that migrated to the cities due to deplorable living conditions in the rural areas ended up getting involved in social vices including, internet fraud, rape and others.

Oba Odugbemi noted that though the roads and electricity supply in the country were not in good order, there was a need for those infrastructures to be provided from the small towns and villages for peace and development.

The Ogun State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Mrs Adijat Ladapo-Adeleye while speaking at the Community Day Celebration called on community people to be patient as the state government would soon commence work in the rural communities after the ongoing projects in the major cities.

The highlight of the Community Day Celebration was the Igunuko parade and dance which saw the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Mrs Adijat Ladapo-Adeleye took to the dance stage with the community men and women.
