It was all accolades at the sendoff of retiring Deputy Director, News and Current Affairs, Federal Radio Corporation FRCN Ibadan Zonal Station, Mr Tunde Abiodun.

The venue of the programme, Studio One, Broadcasting House, Dugbe, Ibadan was packed with FRCN staffers, veteran journalists, friends and family, who took turns to eulogize the retiree fondly called ST.

Game changer, pathfinder, goal getter, and ruggedness personified were some of the epithets showered on Mr Abiodun.

Outgoing Zonal Director, FRCN Ibadan National Station, Mrs Bolatito Joseph, described Mr Abiodun as a hardworking man and a friend that was cherished by all.

Mrs Joseph used the occasion to urge members of the Staff to rededicate themselves and put their trust in God to attain heights in life.

Immediate past Deputy Director News, Elder Adenrele Ajisefinni and his predecessor, the Rev Segun Ayankoso, described the retiring deputy director as a professional to the core and prayed to God to make him greater after retirement.

Speaking on behalf of the Committee of Management, CoM, General Manager Gold FM, Mr Adedamola Tinubu said Mr Abiodun was a good leader who delivered on his mandate while in service.

Deputy Director of News, Mr Adewunmi Faniran, lauded the contribution of Mr Abiodun to the development of the News Department, and also appreciated the Management of FRCN Ibadan for its support. 

A significant valedictory Editorial Conference marked the ‘pen down in honour of the outgoing Deputy Director News and Current Affairs, Mr Abiodun.

In an interview, Mr Abiodun, who was full of joy after 35 years of meritorious service, thanked God for a safe exit despite all odds in the job.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of gifts to the celebrant.

Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, was represented at the event along with his staff in honour of ST Abiodun.
