Nigeria’s Flamingos have booked a place in the quarterfinals of the India 2022 Under-17 Women’s World Cup after defeating Chile 2-1 in their final group game.

The Flamingos entered the game knowing full well that only victory against Chile could guarantee their qualification from group B.

Blessing Emmanuel helped stamped the Flamingoes’ authority by taking the lead in the 4th minute.

The Flamingos held on to the narrow lead until the 82nd minute when Bisola Mosaku doubled the lead to ensure their stronghold on the game

The Chileans then began to mount pressure on the Flamingos and got a penalty four minutes later after Edafe handled the ball in the box and was successfully converted.

The Victory ensures that the Flamingos finished second in Group B behind Germany who they lost to in their first match of the tournament.
