It is not unusual to hear people, not just the elderly, complain of back pain at one time or the other.

As people age, the structures of the human spine such as the joints, discs and ligaments, get stiffer.

Quite a number of factors account for back pain, this might be a result of simple strain to a muscle or ligament or it may be due to one or more of the following:

  • Poor posture
  • Lack of exercise results in stiffening of the spine and weak muscles
  • Muscle strains or sprains.

While drugs are helpful, exercise too could come to the rescue. Watch exercises that could come in handy.
