Green house has emerged as the overall best house in the 2022 Inter-house sports competition of Oba Akinbiyi Model High School 2, Oremeji, Mokola Ibadan.
The red house came second followed by the Yellow house occupying the third position and the blue house came forth.
The inter-house sports competition held at Letmauck Barrack, Ibadan also saw other invited schools, parents and alumni of the school participating in the athletic competition while winners were being given trophies.
Addressing the participants earlier, the Tutor General, Ibadan Zone 2, Chief Tunde Adeniran said school administrators must not only concentrate on the cognitive domain of students but also on the psychomotor noting that inter-house sports competition remained an avenue for talent discovery of students.
In an interview, the Principal, Oba Akinbiyi Model High school 2, Mokola, Ibadan, Mrs Oluwatoyin Ayodele expressed gratitude to God for the success recorded in the competition.
Mrs Ayodele while appreciating sponsors of the sports competition enjoined students and teachers to sustain their good works.
” I want the staff to keep doing what is right. they should take care of the children as their children.
I want the children to know their energy in sport”
Besides Oba Akinbiyi School 1 which emerged first in the female relay race in the category of schools invited to the competition, Army Day High school came second while Army barrack Grammar school clinched the third position.
In the male counterpart of the relay race, Abadina College came first followed by Oba Akinbiyi school 1 and Methodist grammar school, Bodija emerging third.
The event attracted sponsors, representatives from the state TESCOM and the ministry of education.
The inter-house competition could not hold for years due to the paucity of funds and covid 19 pandemic.
