Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Oyo State Command has called for synergy between the command and members of the public to collectively wage war against insecurity. 

NSCDC Commandant in Oyo State, Mr Micheal Adaralewa stated this while parading a suspected burglar at the Command Headquarters, Agodi Ibadan. 

Mr Adaralewa charged the public for a robust relationship with the command that could foster policing strategies in their communities to achieve a crime-free society. 

He said fight against criminality was not for security agencies alone, hence the need for the public to complement them by involving in community policing as they are closer to the grassroots. 

Parading the suspect, the state Commandant, Mr Adaralewa said the suspect, Aderinto Segun was arrested at Pegba, in Muslim area of Oluyole Local Government, Ibadan, last month for alleged robbery. 

The NSCDC boss noted further that it was Agbekoya group who rescued the suspect from mob action and was later handed over to NSCDC officials. 

Mr Adaralewa explained that with the zero-tolerance policy of the State Commandant to crime and criminality, the suspect would be charged to court after proper investigations. 

Speaking with journalists, the suspect, Aderinto who confessed to be a specialized burglar said he had been into robbery since 2018 when he dropped out of school. 

He stated further that his mode of operations was to first survey the area at night and when the house owners left for work in the morning,  he would spring into action.

The suspect said he normally sold his loot to some people in Sabo area.

Exhibits recovered from the suspect included one Android phone, one 32inches plasma TV, A manual Rechargeable fan and different kinds of clothing.
