General Officer Commanding, GOC, 2 Division, Nigerian Army, Ibadan, Major General Aminu Chinade has called for more concerted efforts from all and sundry to tackle the recent rise in criminality in the society. 

Major General Chinade stated this while hosting all heads of security and para-military agencies in Oyo State at the Adekunle Fajuyi Cantonment, Ojoo, Ibadan to brainstorm on the rising wave of criminality in Ibadan and environs as well as kidnappings on the Lagos-Ibadan Express Road.

He advocated for more synergy to stop the dastardly act on the Lagos-Ibadan Express Road by the undesirable elements who want to turn the area into a kidnappers’ den.

General Chinade also solicited better ideas in information sharing and monitoring among the security agencies on how to collectively wage war against insecurity who pose a threat to the development of the nation.

He opined that the step would put the security agencies on their toes in planning robust ways of countering the nefarious activities of the hoodlums.

The GOC who said the meeting which was the first of its kind noted that it would go a long way in tackling insecurity, hence the need for regular series of such meetings to address issues that are affecting the peaceful coexistence among citizens.

Other security chiefs present at the meeting included the Commander, 671 Nigerian Air Force Detachment, the Oyo State Commissioner of Police, the Director of State Services, Nigerian Customs Service, Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS, Commandant, Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC and other heads of security agencies in Oyo State.
