Religious leaders have called on Nigerians to work towards achieving free and fair elections coming up in February and March, 2023.

The religious leaders made this known in Ibadan at an interfaith forum for peaceful elections tagged “Vote Not Fight”, organised by Non governmental organizations.

The programme was aimed at campaigning for peace before, during and after the elections in the country.

One of the clerics, Alhaji Abdulfatai Owonikewu, who said irrespective of anyone’s belief, working in unity should be the watchword, urged residents of the country to shun any form of violence and practice peace at all cost, even after the elections.

“We are under one country, therefore, we are also one”

Also, Pastor Ehiozogie Solomon, implored Nigerians to contribute their quota to the development of the country, and shun religious conflicts and other social vices, during and after the elections.

Pastor Solomon and Alhaji Owonikewu equally called on other religious leaders to preach the importance of peaceful elections.
