Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde has reiterated his administration’s commitment to the promotion of religious freedom, harmony and tolerance across the state.

In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Taiwo Adisa, Governor Makinde congratulated female Muslims across Oyo State on this year’s celebration of hijab day.

He said his administration would not discriminate against any religion in the state. 

Gov Makinde assured that he will continue to relate, interface and dialogue with all religious leaders, adding that they have not only been supportive of his administration but also prayerful.

He appealed to religious leaders in Oyo State to continue to educate their followers on religious harmony and tolerance.

The statement also indicated that the special Assistant on Islamic Affairs to the governor, Imam Wale Abdulrushid had held a brief ceremony at the secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan to commemorate the day.
