The stern-looking security agents were seen patrolling the Dugbe  Bank road in a convoy while residents and other road users watched.

Residents who had been outside the premises of the CBN early in the morning were waiting helplessly and hoping they would be attended to.

The Apex bank had asked customers still in possession of the old naira notes to bring them for deposit after the commercial banks were rejecting them.

Meanwhile, many customers who had been trooping to banks since Wednesday this week, to withdraw money, had been returning disappointed for being unable to withdraw money.

Only a few banks who were reported to have opened for transactions at Dugbe axis of Ibadan could only pay customers five thousand naira across the counter.
