Candidates of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, in Ogun State in the forthcoming elections have signed an undertaking with the party to commit themselves to the fulfilment of their campaign promises when elected.

The undertaking was signed at the party’s secretariat in Abeokuta, the Ogun State Capital.

The Party’s Ogun State Chairman, Mr Olamiposi Oginni while speaking at the exercise explained that the non-fulfilment of promises by many politicians in the past prompted the signing of the documents.

He hinted that the undertaking would serve as evidence to which the people of Ogun State could hold the party and its candidates accountable when they fail to fulfil their promises.

The governorship candidate of the party, Mr Ajadi Oguntoyinbo said no political party in the history of the country has ever done what the party had done by subjecting its candidates to the signing of an undertaking to uphold their promises.

Mr Oguntoyinbo while speaking called on other political parties to emulate the party for the country to progress.
