National Youth Service Corps, (NYSC) says over 200,000 Corps Members would be participating in the general election.

Addressing Journalists in Abuja, the Director General of the Scheme, Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed warned corps members on ad-hoc duties during the forthcoming election to avoid any form of gratification, and avoid any flashpoints.

The DG unveiled a distress call centre that would enable corps members to get help in case of any security alert.

Brigadier General Ahmed said corps members would not work in high security-prone areas, and advised those on electoral duties to be fully dressed in their uniforms.

He said that adequate training had been given to the corps members and any of them found to have compromised would face the full wrath of the law.

The Director General advised the corps members to reach out to the scheme through it’s new four digits distress call number.
