As Muslims all over the World await the sighting of the new moon, Faithful, who observed the fast, have been reminded to give Zakat-lift to the less privileged in society, before attending the Eid prayer on Salah day. 

The Chief Imam, Osun State House of Assembly Muslim Community, Alhaji Abdulfatai Afolabi made the call in an interview with Goldfm in Osogbo. 

Alhaji Afolabi who said the obligatory Zakat lift was meant to purify and sanctify the fast emphasized that it should not exceed the stipulated time. 

The cleric stressed further that food items including, rice, garri and beans could be given to the less privileged or imams of any community who would transfer it to the appropriate people.

Alhaji Afolabi called on Nigerians irrespective of religion to pray for peace, successful transition and reign of the incoming federal government administration.
