Ogun State Waste Management Authority, OGWAMA, is to embark on a special Sallah operation as part of its efforts to ensure cleaner environment.

The Coordinating Director of the Agency, Mr. Toyin Obatosin said in a statement in Abeokuta that special trucks would be deployed for day and night operations.

Mr Obatosin who pointed that there would also be an intense sweeping activities in more strategic locations across the State to sustain a cleaner environment throughout the Sallah period solicited the cooperation of residents with agency to make the exercise a huge success.

He stressed the need for the residents of the state to ensure that refuse generated especially from animals and livestock during the celebration are properly packed for easy collection. 

Mr Obatosin also encouraged motorists to be mindful of highway codes on the roads as Sweepers and other environmental workers would also be on duty throughout the period of Sallah special operation.

While wishing all Muslim faithful Eid Mubarak, he thanked residents of the State for their continuous cooperation with the State Waste Management Authority in its firm commitment to making  Ogun State cleaner.
