The hospitality industry in Ogun State has received a boost with the inauguration of a 600 seating capacity hall, Heritage Events Centre at the Laderin Community in Abeokuta, the State capital.

At a ceremony for the soft opening of the events centre tagged Olusegun Ajiun Soniregun Hall, the Iyalode of Yorubaland, Chief Alaba Lawson described the project as a laudable investment towards improving the state’s economy and providing employment for the people.

Also, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Heritage International, Mr Adewale Soniregun and his brother, Babatunde said they were encouraged to establish the events centre and the Heritage Courtyard Hotels located within the same premises as a way of adding values to the nation.

The Soniregun brothers who identified unfriendly bureaucracy and poor power supply as major factors hindering the growth of businesses in the country called for the implementation of sustainable policies that would motivate more Nigerians in the diaspora to invest in their home country.

They explained that the projects had helped them to fulfill their late parents’ desires as well as answer the calls from prominent individuals for them to extend their investments to Abeokuta leading to the employment of many youths and the provision of scholarships to some of the employees.

In a remark, the Manager of the Events Centre, Mrs Bosede Ayeni-Ijabiyi listed the available facilities to include adequate security, well furnished changing rooms, uninterrupted power supply and ample parking space as well as dedicated kitchen and service areas for caterers.

Other dignitaries at the event, including, Chief Joju Fadairo and Chief Tajudeen Lemboye who acknowledged that the event centre would help in reducing unemployment urged the people to patronize the outlets to encourage the investors to do more.
