Hundreds of residents of Ijaye Tuntun, community in Abeokuta, Owode Yewa, and Ijebu Ode have benefited from the free medical services provided by the Nigeria Army 35 Artillery brigade, Alamala, 192 Battalion, Owode, and the Corp Engineer Regiment Ijebu Ode as part of the 2023 Nigeria Army Day Celebration.

The free medical service which includes medical checkups, diagnoses, referrals, and drugs has the medical corps of the command alongside corps member doctors providing the services to the residents.

The Ijaye Tuntun community, Owode Yewa, and Ijebu Ode are parts of the host communities of the Nigerian Army formations in Ogun State.

The Commander, 35 Artillery Brigade Alamala Abeokuta, Brigadier General Muhammed Aminu while speaking said the free medical outreach was part of the Army’s efforts at giving back to society.

He called for more cooperation of the people through the timely release of information to confront insecurity challenges.

The Onijaye of Ijaye Tuntun, Oba Nafiu Otunbade, while speaking thanked the officers and men of the Nigeria Army for their regular prompt response to issues affecting their community.

Highlights of the event include the presentation of insecticide-treated mosquito nets for the prevention of Malaria to nursing mothers and aged residents of the communities.
