Osun State House of Assembly has set up an Adhoc committee to investigate and give report to the House on the ongoing reconstruction of 91.0km Osogbo/Iwo/Ibadan Expressway executed by Peculiar Ultimate Concerns Ltd.
The Deputy Speaker, Mr. Akinyode Oyewusi is the Chairman of the committee while other members including Mr. Abiola Awoyeye, Mr. Lawrence Adeoti, Mr Abiola Ibrahim, Mr. Taofeek Olayiwola and Mr Adekunle Oladimeji constitute the committee.
Speaker of the House, Prince Adewale Egbedun set up the committee during the Appearance of the CEO Peculiar Ultimate Concerns Ltd., Mr Olanrewaju Adeleke at the floor of the House.
Prince Egbedun noted that Mr Adeleke had not been able convince the House on the level of job done hence the need to set up the adhoc Committee on the reason why the project is been executed at a slow pace.
He urged the Committee to ensure thorough investigation, embark on oversight function and give report of the level of work done so far on the project which is expected to be completed for 18months with 9months gone already.
Earlier, The Speaker sympathized with Residents of the State over the recent flood incidence which destroyed properties worth millions of Naira in Ikire town and cautioned Residents against indiscriminate dumping of refuse.
Meanwhile, Osun State Social Community Responsibility Bill and Osun State Local Content Bill 2023 scaled through its first reading as moved by the Majority Leader, Mr. Kofoworola Adewunmi and seconded by Member representing Irepodun, Mr Adekunle Oladimeji.
Also, the Speaker, Prince Egbedun read to the House new bills including the Osun State Disability Protection Bill 2023 and Osun State Illegal Mining Prohibition Bill 2023 for the first time, Sponsored by Member Representing Obokun, Mr. Adewunmi Adeyemi and Member Representing Ilesa west, Mr.Olawale Akerele, respectively.
The House adjourned it’s plenary till tomorrow Wednesday, Ten o’ Clock in the Morning.
