Former Ondo State governor, Retired General Ekundayo Opaleye wants recipients of chieftaincy titles to regard the honour as a platform for more service to humanity.

Retired General Opaleye gave the advice in Abeokuta, at a reception in honour of a former Senior Special Assistant to Ogun State governor on Media, Chief Funmi Wakama and her husband, Chief Ene on their installation as the Yeye Fiwagboye and Fiwagboye of Owu Kingdom.

The former Ondo State governor, who was the chairman at the event held at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta, advised Mrs Funmi Wakama, who was also retiring from the service of the Nigeria Television Authority, NTA and her husband to continue to promote harmonious relationship among the people around them.

Also, former governor of Ogun State, Chief Olusegun Osoba, while addressing the gathering, applauded Chief Ene Wakama for supporting his wife to reach the top of her career in the tasking field of journalism, describing the former General Manager of NTA Abeokuta as a courageous personality and a goal getter. 

The Olowu of Owu, Egbaland, Oba Saka Matemilola had earlier at the Oke Ago Owu Palace installed Chief Funmi Wakama and her husband Chief Ene Wakama as the Yeye Fiwagboye and Fiwagboye of Owu Kingdom at an event  chaired by former Ogun State governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun and attended by dignitaries including Senator Tolu Odebiyi, the Executive Secretary Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria, Dr Yemisi Bangbose and the General Manager, Radio Nigeria, Paramount FM, Abeokuta, Mr. Akinyinka Akintola.

Highlight of the reception was the unveiling of the Funmi Wakama Foundation and Media Outfit by the retiring NTA Director.
