Fire Razes Shops at Ogunpa Labaowo in Ibadan

Goods worth several millions of naira have been destroyed by a fire outbreak at Ogunpa Labaowo area of Agbokonjo, Ibadan.

 The fire outbreak which occurred in the early hour of today burnt items such as concrete mixers, mattresses, equipment engaged in automobile repair among others   

Narrating his ordeal to Radio Nigeria, a victim who specializes in the repair of car shaft, Mr Abdul-Jelil Oladimeji said his equipments worth several millions of naira have been lost to the fire.

 Speaking on the cause of the fire outbreak, the Chairman, Ogunpa Labaowo Plant Mechanic Association, Mr Azeez Ibrahim quoted the night guard overseeing the store as saying that the fire outbreak occurred as a result of surge during power supply to the area.

Mr Ibrahim said many concrete mixers and engines were destroyed in the inferno.

Mr Oladimeji and Ibrahim appealed to government to consider the current economic crises and come to their rescue.
