Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has expressed sadness over the demise of the late Iyalode of Egbaland, Chief Alaba Lawson.

Chief Obasanjo, who conferred the national honour of Member of the Order of Federal Republic, MFR, on Chief Lawson in 2004 described the late Iyalode of Egbaland and Yorubaland as a very generous personality whose life was worthwhile.

He noted that, the strictness and hardworking attributes of the late industrialist were remarkable. 

In a reaction conveyed through his Special Assistant on Media, Mr Kehinde Akinyemi, former President Obasanjo said the late Chief Lawson had contributed immensely to the country’s economic growth and community development.
