Osun State House of Assembly Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights, Public Petitions and Legal Matters, has tabled the outcome of its investigation on the state’s Chief Judge.

The Committee alleged the Chief Judge, Honorable Justice Adepele Ojo of unlawful seizure of emoluments salary of workers of the State High Court, unilateral inflation of affidavit, misappropriation, non-remittance of over 7 million naira Ikirun robbery into government coffers and diversion of running cost and embezzlement of robe allowances of judges.

The Chairman, House Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights, Public Petitions and Legal Matters, Mr Kanmi Ajibola laid the report during plenary held at the Assembly Complex, Osogbo.

Mr Ajibola stressed that the revelations and outcome of the House investigations further cemented the step-aside resolution of the House.

The Legal Practitioner, who explained that the House acknowledged the stake of the National Judicial Council, NJC in the ongoing investigation reiterated that the Legislative Arm has the power to investigate any public office holders as enshrined in the constitution.

In separate contributions, Members including Honourables Lawrence Adeoti, Adewumi Adeyemi and Fatunmise Olumide expressed their resentments over what they described as an unjust treatment of workers of the State High Court under the leadership of Honorable Justice Adepele Ojo.

While under personal explanation, the Deputy Majority Leader, Honourable Adekunle Oladimeji congratulated the member representing Ife Central State Constituency, Mr. Abiola Awoyeye on his victory at the Court of Appeal.

In his submission, the Speaker of the House, Prince Adewale Egbedun commended the efforts and dedication of the members and Chairman of Judiciary Matters and Public Petitions, Honourable Kanmi Ajibola for presenting its report within the space of seven days.
