Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun will on Thursday, 30th November 2023 present the state’s budget proposal for the year 2024 before the State House of Assembly.
The Speaker of the House, Mr Olakunle Oluomo, who read the Governor’s letter during a plenary at the Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, Assembly Complex said the budget presentation session would commence by 10 am, while all invited stakeholders were expected to be seated 30 minutes before the takeoff time.
Meanwhile, the State House of Assembly has set up a committee headed by the Deputy Speaker, Mrs Bolanle Ajayi, to look into the alleged demolition of Elefon Primary School in Ewekoro Local Government Area of the state by a private company as reported by the member, representing Ewekoro Constituency, Mr Yusuf Amosun.
Mr Amosun, who is the Chairman, the House Committee on Education, had alleged that the company in connivance with some chiefs and traditional rulers in the area had demolished the school in a bid to explore the mineral resources discovered on the land occupied by the school.
Expressing his displeasure over the report, Mr Oluomo urged the committee to summon all the people involved in the unlawful act and leave no stone unturned in thoroughly investigating the alleged demolition of the school.
In a related development, the lawmakers also invited the State Head of Service, Mr. Peter Fagbohun to appear before the House tomorrow, Wednesday, 29th November, 2023 by 2 pm following a recommendation of the House Committee on Establishments and Public Service Matters.
