The NYSC in Oyo State says it has recorded low applications for redeployment from corps members who are in camp for the 2023 Batch C, Stream 2 Orientation course.

The State Coordinator NYSC, Oyo State, Mr. Abel Oche, made this known at the swearing-in ceremony of 2023 Batch C, Stream 2 corps members held at NYSC Orientation Camp Iseyin.

Mr. Oche explained that corps members, who came with the intention of relocating to their states of residence, changed their minds following a counsel interface with the camp officials.

He added that those, who had submitted applications, later had a rethink and withdrew them with the resolve to face the challenges of the one-year mandatory national service.

Declaring the Orientation course open, Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde charged the corps members to give their best to enhance the development of the state when deployed to their respective community of service.

Represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Miss Wosilat Adegoke, Governor Makinde assured corps members serving in the state of adequate security and welfare.

The three thousand and fifty-one corps members posted to Oyo State for the three weeks orientation course swore to the oath of allegiance led by the Chief Judge of Oyo State, Mrs Iyabo Yerima, represented by Justice Rachael Akintola in the presence of dignitaries and representatives of heads of security agencies in the state.
