The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has re-affirmed the election victory of the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Mr Olakunle Oluomo, representing Ifo 1, State Constituency against his contender in the last general election, mr Okikiola Ogundele of the Peoples Democratic Party.

The Appeal court equally awarded a sum of five hundred thousand naira fine against the appellant.

Reacting to his victory, Speaker Oluomo expressed appreciation to his constituents for believing in his representation, while commending the judiciary for its consistency in ensuring justice for the promotion of democracy.

Also, the lawmaker representing Ikenne state constituency under the umbrella of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Mr Olakunle Sobukanla has been sworn in as a member of the 10th Assembly after the Court of Appeal annulled the election of the former occupier of the post, Mr Babajide Owoduni of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Mr Sobukanla took the Oath of Office and Oath of Allegiance administered by the Deputy Clerk, Mrs Funmilayo Adeyemi, during a plenary held at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

the Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos had last November nullified the election of Mr Owoduni  and declared Mr Sobukanla, who was also a member of the 9th legislature elected.

Speaking shortly after his swearing-in, Mr Sobukanla promised to always remain a good representative of his constituents.
