Ahead of this year’s Christmas and new year celebrations, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Osun State Command has deployed two thousand ,three hundred and fifty 2,350 personnel across the state.

The State Commandant of the Corps, Mr Agboola Sunday said the deployment was to provide watertight security, covert and overt intelligence operations and round the clock surveillance to ensure that criminally minded people did not perform their anti-social acts.

In a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Osun NSCDC Mrs Kehinde Adeleke, the Commandant said personnel would be deployed to worship centres, market places, recreation centres, critical infrastructure and some other flash points in the state.

He warned miscreants planning to cause breakdown of law and order to have a change of mind, as they would be made to face the full wrath of the law.

Mr Agboola  hinted that, the command was collaborating with other sister agencies to provide adequate security in Osun State, as he charged his  personnel who are deployed for the assignment to be civil but firm in the discharge of their duties.

While congratulating Christians in the state as they join other faithful across the globe to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, the Osun State helmsman of NSCDC enjoined those who will be travelling during this festive period to avoid night travels, over-speeding, over loading and stopping on lonely roads.

He directed that suspicious movements should be reported to the nearest security agency, while in any emergency situation, members of the public should call NSCDC Osun State Command’s emergency lines on 0805555644 and 07041300031.
