Boxing Day: Low Turnout at Oyo Fun Centres

Some residents of Ibadan, on Tuesday, came out to observe the public holiday declared by the federal government to commemorate boxing day.

At Agodi gardens, few fun seekers were seen with friends and family making use of the facilities provided at the recreational activities, as the fun seekers assumed relaxing positions with food and drinks as well as melodious tunes supplied by the DJ.

Some of them who spoke with Radio Nigeria correspondent explained that the trip had afforded them the opportunity to ease out stress and meet new friends.

Also, a visit to shopping malls along Ring Road and Dugbe, showed that some fun seekers were seen partying, children in large numbers, were enjoying facilities including horse ride, train ride, and air-o-plane.

A parent, Mr Taiwo Adesina said he brought out his children for family bonding noting that the experience was fulfilled.

The university of Ibadan zoological garden, witnessed the presence of scanty fun seekers making use of its facilities.

They however expressed the believe that the public holidays declared by the federal government would enable them to carry out their personal administration and also bond with their families.
