Oyo Govt. Donates N10m to Nigeria Army

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has donated a sum of 10 million Naira on behalf of the state government to support the appeal fundraising week in celebration of the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration

Governor Makinde also made a personal donation of a million Naira.

He donated while hosting relevant stakeholders at the launching of the emblem of the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration.

Governor Makinde pledged that his administration would continue to support the welfare of the serving and retired soldiers for their sacrifice and steadfastness in keeping the country safe and secured

Earlier, the Oyo State Chairman, Nigerian Legion, Julius Ogunkojo, who appreciated the leadership qualities of Governor Seyi Makinde, said that the main focus of the programme was to raise funds to cater for the Veterans who are still alive but incapacitated, the children and widows of the departed heroes.

The event witnessed the decoration of the state governor, the deputy Governor, the Speaker State House of Assembly, represented by the deputy speaker, top government officials, Service commanders, Commissioner of Police among others.
