Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Oyo State has fixed Saturday 3rd February 2024 for the conduct of a rerun election in two polling units in Saki West for the Oyo State House Of Assembly, OYHA.

This is contained in a statement signed by the INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC in Oyo State, Dr. Adeniran Tella.

Dr. Tella said the conduct of the rerun election which complies with court order, would take place in two affected polling units and registration areas.

He said the affected polling units include, Odo-Osun 007 in the Ogidigbo Area and Ogbalanja polling unit 019 in the Sepeteri/Bapon registration area.

Dr. Tella further stated that only eligible voters with permanent voter’s cards, PVC who registered in the two affected areas would be qualified to vote on Election Day, noting that the Bimodal Accreditation System, BVAS would be deployed for the exercise.

The REC, who explained that the exercise would start by 8:30 in the morning and end by 2:30 in the afternoon, said only the electorate in the queue on or before 2:30 in the afternoon would be allowed to vote.

He, however, urged participating political parties to begin campaigns immediately saying all forms of campaigns must end by the 1st of February, 2024.
