The Director General, the National Orientation Agency, NOA, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu has visited the Ibadan Explosion scene and commiserated with the Oyo State Government and Victims of the Explosion which rocked some parts of the ancient city a few weeks ago.

The Director General who was in Ibadan on a Working Visit was accompanied by the Director, the National Orientation Agency, NOA, Oyo State, Dr. Olukemi Afolayan to the Emergency Situation Hub at Housing Corporation, Bodija and the Explosive Site, Dejo Oyelese Street, Bodija, Ibadan 

Speaking on the incident, Mallam Issa-Onilu described it as an unfortunate and monumental loss to the people, the State and Nigeria in general, saying the level of damage in the Area was huge.

“it takes collective efforts of all of us in this Country to be able to ensure peace and stability. Every Citizen should see him or herself as part of the solution. See something, say something. I use this opportunity to commiserate with the family of those who lost their lives and those who were injured. We pray to God to give them total healing” Issa-Onilu said

“I want to commend Oyo State Government for the quick response which was very very profound, particularly, NEMA, from day one, you people have gone into this issue along with Oyo State Authorities. We commend you for all your efforts and pray that this is not going to happen again”. 

The NOA Director General appealed to all Nigerians to be their brothers’ keepers, adding that, whenever they see something, they should say something for the appropriate Authority to act faster on the information before it gets out of hand.

Meanwhile, Mallam Issa-Onilu used the opportunity to visit the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun in his Alarere Palace, where he solicited the support of the Monarch towards the restoration of Nigeria’s virtues and values.

He said the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Present Administration would create a better understanding between the government and the Citizens to make every Nigerian patriotic, diligent and committed to the Nation’s Development.

Responding, Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun appreciated the Director General for the homage, urging the government to keep to the promises of making life more bearable for the citizens.

The Monarch condemned the State of insecurity in the Country, calling on the government to put more effort into protecting the lives and property of the people.
